Motorists urged to take precautions

As the holiday season commences and people will be travelling to their various holiday destinations around the country, the Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport urged motorists to be safe and alert on the roads.

The department’s spokesperson Hillary Mophethe appealed to all motorists to follow the rules of the road.

“We kindly ask motorists to take off every two hours to rest and we also want to encourage them to always buckle up in a car and avoid using cellphones. They shouldn’t drink and drive, they should take responsibilities on the road. Road safety is each and everyone’s responsibility and together we can save millions of lives,” said Mophethe.
