Planned water supply interrruption in Mangaung

The Mangaung Metro Municipality has informed residents of Mangaung of a planned water supply interruption scheduled for (26/05) due to maintenance and operational activities at the Water Treatment Plant, estimated to take up to 36 hours.

According to the municipality, activities that will take place during the maintenance period are cleaning of Palsor 1, cleaning of Plant Inlet Structures, cleaning of Balancing/Dehoek, installation of Highlight Pump Control Valve no. 2 and cleaning of Secondary Dosing Points.

“These critical maintenance activities form part of the ongoing plant refurbishment and operational improvements are programmed aimed at enhancing process efficiency, system reliability, and sustainable water supply,” said the munipality.

The following areas will be affected due to maintenance work:

Pellisier, Langenhovenpark, Phelindaba, Vista Park, Phahameng, Unique Homes, Namibia, Rocklands, Loiurierpark, Dewet, Dewetsdorp, Wepener and associated areas.

The utility said affected consumers will experience brief water disruptions, reduced water pressure, and recurrent water provision.

“Reservoir management and system balancing will be continuously monitored throughout the maintenance period to minimize the impact on consumers and critical services.”
