Centlec has notified residents of Mangaung of a planned power supply interruption at the Showgrounds Distribution Centre (Sand du Plessis Substation) due to maintenance upgrades on the electricity network.
According to Centlec, the maintenance is scheduled to take place from 08:00 to 16:00 tomorrow (29/05), with an alternate date set for 08:00 to 16:00 for 5 June.
The following areas will be affected by the shutdown:
Hospitaalpark, Sand du Plessis School, Maga Park, and Builders warehouse linked to the Sand du Plessis substation.
The utility said the maintenance is necessary for installation of current transformers and a cable differential relay to improve network reliability. “Power may be restored without warning at any time during the shutdown period, and all installations must be treated as Live and Dangerous,” said Centlec.
The municipality added that the shutdown is necessary for construction and maintenance improvements on the network.
