Planned power interruption to affect parts of Mangaung

Centlec has notified residents in parts of Mangaung about a planned power interruption scheduled for today (12/05), from 09:00 until 16:00.

The outage will affect residents in DF Malherbe, parts of Olive Hill, and Estoire.

According to Centlec, the interruption forms part of planned maintenance work aimed at improving network reliability. The maintenance includes cutting and pruning trees encroaching on overhead line servitudes, as well as replacing defective overhead line hardware.“The power may be restored without warning at any time during the shutdown period and all installations must therefore be treated as live and dangerous,” the utility said.

Centlec further stated that the shutdown is necessary to allow for upgrades and maintenance on the electricity network. Residents are advised to make the necessary arrangements during the outage period.
