Planned power interruption scheduled for Olive Hill

Centlec has issued a notice to residents of Olive Hill regarding a planned power interruption due to maintenance and upgrade work on the electricity network.

According to the utility, the outage is scheduled to take place from 09:00 to 16:00 today (13 May), with an alternative date set for 20 May during the same hours if necessary.

Centlec explained that the interruption is required to allow for the cutting and pruning of trees encroaching on overhead line servitudes, as well as the replacement of defective overhead line hardware to improve network reliability.

“The power may be restored without warning at any time during the shutdown period and all installations must therefore be treated as live and dangerous,” the utility warned.

Centlec added that the planned shutdown forms part of ongoing construction and maintenance upgrades on the network. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of the interruption,” the utility said.
