Police in Bloemspruit are appealing to the public for information following the discovery of the body of a 56-year-old man on Thursday (16/07).
According to Free State police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli, officers responded to a complaint of murder and, upon arrival, found the deceased lying on his back. “A preliminary assessment revealed that the victim had sustained multiple fatal stab wounds to his neck and the left side of his chest,” Kareli said.
The body was discovered by a passerby in an area frequently used by pedestrians travelling to Meadows Road to catch taxis.
Police said the location is a busy pedestrian route regularly used by community members, making investigators hopeful that someone may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist with the investigation.
No arrests have been made, and the motive for the attack remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel David Ramaswala on 082 527 7390.
