A young woman was killed on the N8 approximately 50 kilometres outside of Bloemfontein on Friday night.
At approximately 6pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the woman’s car lying on its roof in the middle of the highway. Upon assessment paramedics found that she had sustained fatal injuries.
Sadly, there was nothing that they could do for her and she was declared dead on the scene. It appears that her vehicle collided with a large truck.
It is understood that the young lady was a paramedic student at an ambulance college in Bloemfontein.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will investigate.
