Missing Bloemfontein mom and 2-year-old child found safe in Cape Town

37 year old Suzan Strydom who went missing with her 2 year old daughter from their home in Bloemfontein have been found in Cape Town.

After a big search party was launched by Bainsvlei SAPS for the missing 37-year-old Suzan Strydom who went missing with her 2-year-old daughter in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police have received and confirmed information that the two are safe in Cape Town.

This comes after the mother disappeared from their home in Bainsvlei, Bloemfontein.  It is alleged that the mother arrived in Bloemfontein from Cape Town on Friday, 19 May 2017, night in her Red Chevrolet Spark.  The 37-year-old mother was in Cape Town for mental observation for a period of time and the child was staying with the father in Bloemfontein during her absence.

On Saturday, 20 May 2017, morning at around 05:30 the husband realized that his wife had disappeared together with their 2-year-old daughter.  The woman’s vehicle a Red Chevrolet Spark was also missing.  The startled husband reported the matter at Bainsvlei Police station in Bloemfontein and a lookout was issued out by the Police in the Free State.

Bainsvlei Station Commander received numerous calls but one specific call was received from Police in the Cape indicating that the mother had reported herself to the police that side and that she and her daughter are in good health.

Circumstances of her disappearance with the child are still to be investigated by Bainsvlei Police.
