Whispers on the Run wants to help you have your voice heard by introducing a brand new virtual talk show, which will be live streamed on their Facebook page on Wednesday, 26 August 2020 from 19:00 to 20:00.
The show is called VoiceIT and is an opportunity for controversial topics to be discussed and opinions to be aired. Stewart Barlow, who will be hosting the show, told Bloemfontein Courant that the show will be covering the hottest trending topics, from politics to the latest hairstyles.
“We will be hosting our guests every two weeks and we will be based in Bloemfontein. However, we want to broaden our horizons and cover the entire Free State,” he said.
He added that they will host different people every week to speak on different topics and will be giving people, especially the youth, an opportunity to audition, thereby giving them a chance of being guest presenters and showcasing their talent. According to Barlow, the show will be not be biased and will be solely based on the opinion of the guest being interviewed.
The talk show will also serve as an on-the-move show that will be moving around with news. Barlow told Bloemfontein Courant this means that the camera crew and presenter will be visiting different places when a hot topic is trending to gain different perspectives from different people. The initial idea is to also promote local business.
“We want to occasionally present our show from a local coffee shop or restaurant to both promote their business in the form of an advertisement.” The show is currently sponsored by Whispers on the Run and Free State Live and will be shot in a studio.
Guests will be invited and the necessary safety precautions regarding Covid-19 regulations will be implemented. Barlow said the first guest will be Dossie Hendrik after he had been dragged on social media following the reinstatement of Mayor Speelman of Welkom.
He will be on the show to tell his side of the story. The following week a well-known Samaritan of the Heidedal community will be there to spread positivity.
