The Free State police in Sasolburg arrested two suspects, aged 41 and 43 for possession of an illegal firearm.
Free State police spokesperson, Josephine Rani, revealed that on Saturday (25/04) police received information regarding two male suspects allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm. “The suspects were reportedly linked to a case of intimidation and pointing of a firearm in Heilbron,” Rani said.
She added that police then proceeded to the R57 at the four-way stop near Amelia, where the described vehicle was intercepted, she said, “Upon searching the vehicle, members recovered an unlicensed 9mm Star BM pistol. Both suspects were immediately arrested at the scene.”
The suspects are expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm.
