Two males aged 33 and 45 have been arrested on Sunday in Welkom after being found in possession of suspected drugs.
According to Sergeant Palesa Thabana, members from the Welkom Public Order Policing conducted an intelligence driven operation on Sunday, 20 April 2025.
“It led them to a vandalised building in Welkom. On arrival, they spotted the two male suspects attempting to run away. Members gave chase, and the two foreign nationals were caught and found in possession of CAT drugs,” said Thabana.
She added that the police seized 35 ziplock bags containing CAT drugs and money from the suspects.
“The two male suspects aged 33 and 45 were subsequently arrested for possession of drugs. They will appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court soon.”
