Two behind bars after alleged business robbery in Bfn

Two suspects are said to make an appearance before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court today. This after the alleged robbery at the shop of a Bangladesh citizen.

The incident took place over the weekend when the 28-year-old Ali Bhiyan was allegedly robbed at his shop located at Kagisanong. According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, the complainant was sleeping in his shop when the two suspects entered the shop and overpowered him. It is alleged that one suspect pointed a firearm at him whilst taking money, groceries, airtime vouchers and cigarettes.

“Within hours Sergeant Mokete Motsoai from the Kagisanong Detectives and members of the K9 Unit in Bloemfontein followed up information that led them to a place where one of the suspects was drinking. The suspect, aged 29, was arrested and further information led the team to the second suspect, aged 25,” said Makhele.

Members of the police recovered cash, groceries and various cigarettes suspected to have been stolen from the shop.
