Two people were arrested in Petrusburg on Thursday for breaking into a butchery.
Two police officers were returning to work from their lunch break when they saw two men loitering behind the butchery in Ossewa Street.
The two vigilant officers, Constables Lereko Kwetle and Sello Moleleki who were driving in a private vehicle, became suspicious and decided to monitor their actions.
They followed them and saw them entering the butchery from the back.
They waited for the pair to come out and when they did, they were holding two suspicious looking plastic bags.
Upon investigation, the police found 33 pieces of unprocessed biltong to the value of R980 inside the plastic bags.
The duo will be appearing before Petrusburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face theft charges.
