Tiisetso Mental Health Centre needs help

Tiisetso Mental Health Centre, situated in K Section Botshabelo, is a safe haven for people suffering from different mental illnesses.

The centre offers shelter to people who are neglected by their families. It cares for women who are abused or at risk of getting sexually abused.
The organisation’s secretary, Diphaphang Morake, said they have 15 patients that they are looking after at the centre.

“We have been operating since last year and we have been using our own money for rent, which amounts to R2,500. We would have loved to have our own place so that our patients could be safe.

“We also don’t have enough beds, which means some of our patients have to sleep on the floor. With winter approaching we are worried about them. So we are asking for a good Samaritan to help us with beds, blankets, kitchen appliances or office furniture,” said Morake.

He added that people with mental health problems are going up and down the streets of Botshabelo. “Our wish is to have a place for these people to be safe from abuse.” To assist call Diphaphang Morake on 060-414-5567.
