Road rage case postponed

ALZANE NARRAIN

The court case involving a driver and a taxi driver which resulted in a road rage incident has been postponed today in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.

40-year-old Edward Benjamin Musgrave is accused of pointing a firearm at a taxi driver. The incident allegedly took place in the late afternoon of 9 August in Dan Pienaar.

The state requested a postponement because the firearm involved in the alleged incident had not yet been sent for a ballistic evaluation and witnesses to the incident haven’t been contacted.

On the day of the incident the taxi driver apparently drove carelessly which resulted in Musgrave overtaking him and signalling the taxi driver to stop.

Musgrave got out of his car and an argument ensued. He then allegedly took out his firearm and pointed it at the 60-year-old taxi driver.

The case will continue on Thursday, 3 October.
