Police are looking for the relatives of an unknown woman whose body was found on Friday afternoon near Strydom High School in Thaba Nchu.
“A shepherd was looking for his cattle next to the dam at Zone 1 and noticed the body of a woman near the water of the dam. He then immediately notified the police,” says police spokesperson, Consolation Mokoale.
According to Mokoale, when the police arrived at the scene, the the body was lying on the ground facing upward with stab wounds in the chest. Police are now investigating a case of murder.
“The deceased was wearing black trousers, a blue shirt and navy blue jersey. She is believed to be between 21 and 25 years of age. The body of the unknown woman was taken to Botshabelo Government mortuary and has not yet been identified. The police are looking for her relatives to claim the body,” explains Mokoale
The police urge anyone with information to contact them in tracing the deceased relatives or suspects.
