The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has issued an important notice to accredited accommodation providers, confirming upcoming payment dates for those who have successfully completed the verification process.
According to NSFAS, payments to TVET accommodation providers are scheduled for 24 April 2026, while university accommodation providers can expect disbursements on 4 May 2026.
Only providers who have met all verification requirements will receive payments on the confirmed dates. Accommodation providers are encouraged to work closely with the relevant solution partners to ensure their verification processes are completed timeously, helping to avoid delays in disbursements.
NSFAS has also moved the April 2026 TVET payment date forward from 25 April to 17 April 2026 for all TVET Colleges. “Students and institutions are advised to take note of the earlier disbursement, while all remaining payments will continue according to the previously communicated annual schedule,” the scheme said.
This follows registration data inaccuracies, mainly linked to incorrect allowance indicators captured by TVET colleges during Cycle 1. “To avoid further disadvantaging affected students, NSFAS was required to review its planned calendar and allow for an earlier opening of the first cycle adjustments period so that colleges could correct their registration data. This process unfortunately resulted in delays in the payment of allowances for some affected students,” NSFAS Acting CEO Waseem Carrim explained.
Students are to take note that these changes only apply for April and other payment dates are to remain the same.
