The newly Nature Conservation graduates in the Free State will be provided with an internship in order to enhance their skills and knowledge.
The provincial Department of Tourism and Economic Development says the 22 graduates will be employable anywhere in the nature conservation field. According to MEC Msebenzi Zwane, they wanted to increase a number of skilled young people in the conservation field.
Zwane said that the students started the course with theoretical training at the South African Wildlife College in Mpumalanga last year for five months and completed the course with experiential training at the Golden Gate nature reserve outside QwaQwa, in the Eastern Free State for another five months.
“We are delighted that we continue to contribute to educated people in our province and also contribute to job creation. Overall we are happy for assist in the enhancement of our environment,” said Zwane.
