Free State Premier Ace Magashule emphasized that his budget speech marks the beginning of a radical economic and social transformation.
He was addressing provincial parliament in Bloemfontein, earlier this week. His department has been allocated with more than R270 514 million. More than R130 000 million will be invested in administration and more than R44 000 000 million for policy and governance.
During the budget speech debate, Wouter Wessels from the Freedom Front Plus said Magashule’s office has become propaganda of ANC programmes.
Meanwhile the Democratic Alliance’s Roy Jankielsohn added that Free State has the potential to turn around the alleged ailing economy and added that municipalities can contribute to economic development if they can provide basic services and understand local economic development.
An emotional Magashule responded by saying maybe he should allow a DA member to operate a particular municipality and see if change will occur.
“For aslong as our people are happy, you can make a lot of noise and say anything but we will continue serving our people with loyalty and policy. We don’t care about those racists who are thinking that it is still an era where blacks used to call white people bosses(baas), which is the mentality that Jankielsohn has,” said Magashule.
