Following the circulation of CCTV footage of an armed robbery at Engen Heidedal and two other filling stations by three suspects, the provincial organised crime unit in Bloemfontein is requesting help with any information about the suspects.
According to Police spokesperson, Mahlomola Kareli, they are looking for three suspects involved in the robbery of filling stations in and around the City of Roses.
“The three suspects walked into the convenience store one after the other, with one carrying a bag, like normal customers. When they saw that all other customers have exited the store, they made their way to the cashier and opened the bag, containing what looked like a firearm, and instructed the cashier to empty the tills and put money in a bag,” said Kareli.
Trio is alleged to have robbed more than three filling stations’ grocery shops and all these cases were taken over by the Organised Crime Unit in the province, to put an end to the robberies.
Filling station employees and owners are also warned to be vigilant of these armed suspects, who pose as customers.
