Round Table Bloemfontein 158 is hosting their annual Winter Knights donation drive. A daily drop-off point will be available from 1 June 2024 at Oranje Toyota Bloemfontein.
Members of the public can drop off blankets and clothing, as well as non-perishables. Winter Knights has become a powerful alliance project between Round Table Southern Africa, Toyota and the Knights and is held annually, usually during the colder months.
Projects like Winter Knights aim to make a positive impact and address social needs within the various communities.
The Winter Knights project began in 2010 in Scottburgh, KZN, when a few members of the Round Table braved the cold for a few hours during the heart of winter, wearing only light clothing.
In doing so, they experienced first-hand the burning cold, suffered by so many less fortunate citizens of South Africa. Oranje Toyota Bloemfontein has been a strong supporter of the Table’s Winter Knights project.
One of the Tablers, Juno de Castro, mentioned that Toyota’s partnership is invaluable and allows the Table to make an impactful change in the Bloemfontein community De Castro further mentioned that donations from the drive will be distributed to individuals and families facing winter hardships within the Bloemfontein area.
On 28 June 2024, Round Table Bloemfontein 158 will be facing the cold to experience what so many of the community experience daily.
The Tablers will be situated at Checkers in Langenhoven Park from 15h00 until 20h00 to collect the various items that will be distributed in the following weeks.
