Unveiling of Dr Leabua Jonathan statue postponed

The Free State Department of Arts and Culture has postponed the unveiling of Former Lesotho Prime Minister, Dr Leabua Jonathan’s statue and soccer match until further notice.

The unveiling was supposed to take place on Sunday, 10 March 2019, at the Library Services Building in Zastron Street, Mangaung, at 10 am. It was then supposed to be followed by an international friendly soccer match between Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club and Linareng Football Club from Lesotho. This match was supposed to take place later that day at 2pm at the Dr Rantlai Molemela Stadium in Mangaung.

In a statement released by the department they said: “The postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances. We extend our humble apology to the stakeholders, the media and the public in general for any inconvenience caused.”

The department added that a new date for the event would be announced in due course. – Seithati Semenokane
