Two bodies discovered close to Tempe Military Base

The bodies of two men, estimated between the ages of 30 and 35, were discovered near the Tempe Military Base in Bloemfontein this morning.

This comes after members of the Park Road Police Station received a call from a SANDF staff-sergeant reporting the death of two people in Brandwag.

According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, the officer indicated that he had received information about two dead people lying in the open veld near the military base entrance.

“The police responded swiftly and upon arrival at the corner of Furstenberg Road and Melville Drive in Brandwag, they found the bodies of two males lying a stone’s throw from each other,” said Makhele.

One of the bodies was lying underneath a tree. According to Makhele there is an indication that homeless people have been sleeping at the spot. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the diseased had no external injuries, but foam was visible on the mouth of one of the victims.

An inquest will be registered and an investigation conducted to determine the cause of death of both the deceased men.
