The Free State police have arrested three men aged between 25 and 37 in connection with a house robbery in Thabong, where a woman was allegedly shot.
Free State police spokesperson, Lorraine Earle, said that the suspects shot the woman and took most of the valuable possessions in the house.

“A gunshot went off from outside before striking her on the right leg. One of the suspects hit her on the arm with a firearm before demanding money from her. The suspects took the victims’ property, which included a TV, speaker, pairs of shoes, cellphones, a bank card, and six cases of alcohol before fleeing the scene on foot,” Earle mentioned.

The victim was then taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The description of the three suspects was given to the police, which they acted upon and ultimately led to the arrests of the three suspects.
“A 33-year-old suspect was found in possession of suspected stolen property, housebreaking implements, and toy guns. A 25-year-old suspect was found in possession of suspected stolen property, and a 37-year-old suspect was found in possession of suspected stolen property and an unlicensed firearm,” according to Earle.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court.
