“The Bloem Show is a fun event and therefore I want to encourage people to look at this great event through the eyes of a child.”
These were the words of Elmarie Prinsloo, chief executive officer of the Bloem Show, at the launch of the show at the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday. The theme for this year’s show is “Colour me crazy”.
The show will feature 19 agri championships, about 400 exhibitors, a record number of entries in the dairy and creative arts sections and more than 12 popular national music artists and groups.
Two additional beauty contests have been launched this year — Mr Windmill Bloem Show and Miss Teen Bloem Show. The Go Green Expo, Fitness and Health Expo and music evenings will also form part of the show.
The South African National Defence Force will have an interesting and interactive exhibition. Visitors can also look forward to the military music evening.
“The highlights of this year’s show include the fun fair, which will have new rides. There will be a 50% discount on tickets bought at Computicket before 27 April. Special packages will also be available.
“We will have two half price days on 2 and 4 May. This will give you a reason to come back a second time and just enjoy it!” says Prinsloo.
