If you would like to support a worthy cause and be entertained at the same time, the concert by the world famous R&B outfit from Cape Town, The Rockets, is just the thing for you.
According to Lauren Tobias, owner of the newly established entertainment company, Great Events, a percentage of the proceeds from the Rockets Concert on Saturday 1 April at the City Hall, will be donated to the non-profit organisation (NPO) Dynamo Education, Training and Empowerment Support Network. The NPO empowers women in business and offers after school care to primary school learners.
Joining the Rockets on stage on 1 April are a few local acts, such as the local dance sensation and choreographer, Angelo Mokonenyane.
“There are a lot of hidden local talent. We also want to use this show, as well as our future shows, to give young people a platform to exhibit their talent. The audience will be pleasantly surprised by the skills of these youngsters,” says Tobias.
The Rockets, who needs no introduction to the Bloemfontein audiences, has supported many international acts during its concerts in South Africa. These include Usher, Ronan Keating, Will Young, Patrizio Buanne, Alicia Keys, P Diddy, Eddy Grant, Luther Vandross, The Spice Girls, Wet Wet Wet, Billy Ocean, The O’Jays and many others.
