In her quest to help the needy in these trying times, Bloemfontein resident Bridgitte Murison has come up with the #R10Challenge, and she needs your help to make a difference in the lives of the needy.
The #R10Challenge is an initiative to get as many people as possible to donate a minimum of R10, which in turn will be donated to the LoganK Foundation, who will use the funds to help with different needs in the community, from feeding schemes to providing toiletries for the needy.
According to Murison her goal is to raise R15 000 by the end of May 2020. “Giving back to the place you call home helps unite the community and bridge some of the social and economic gaps. Spending time enriching your community and surrounding yourself with people in the community is a great way to broaden your perceptions of the world.
“By immersing yourself in a community and surrounding yourself with people who are dedicated to bettering the world, you can learn so much about how the world works,” said Murison.
Some of the funding raised will also be used to assist small business around the community who has been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. According to her the initiative is just a vehicle to assist those on the ground doing the actual work.
“They are the ones who know the real struggles of the people in the community and they are dependent on any form of contribution, be it money or food parcels, so they can assist the needy on a daily basis. There are many people who are feeding those less fortunate out of their own pockets, and I commend them for their act of selflessness. I am asking that everyone who is in a position to contribute, to please do so. No contribution is too small,” concluded Murison.
