Bloemfontein police say the alleged owner of a house which is believed to have been used as a brothel, was formally charged after he was arrested.
This comes after the 56-year-old man, who is believed to be an employee at a tertiary institution, was released yesterday without appearing in court on a charge of operating a brothel.
Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says the case was not placed on the role due to a technical error. Sensitive information was not included in the statement after the man was arrested at the house on Saturday.
Marope says police have been tasked by the state prosecutor to gather more information that can positively link the man to the case.
Marope says it will depend on the state prosecutor whether an arrest warrant or a summons for the man to appear in court will be issued.
This comes after the case against four women arrested last Friday at the same alleged brothel was postponed yesterday to Friday.
Princess and Zanele Ncube, Sthando Zondi and Sandisile Gumede appeared on charges of prostitution. Zanele is also accused of running a brothel, while Princess faces an additional drug charge after she was found in possession of cocaine.
