About 4 000 matric learners across the Free State will sit for Computer Applications Technology today – the first practical assessment that forms part of this year’s final matric examination.
Free State education department spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the province is aiming for a 90% pass rate and a 40% bachelor's pass rate this year, a result he is confident can be achieved. He urges learners to be calm, work hard and make the province proud as they reached the final stage after twelve years of hard work and dedication.
Ndaba says more than 35 000 Gr. 12 learners have registered for the exams that officially start with the first English paper on October 26.
The next practical assessment is tomorrow when learners will be completing their first Information Technology paper. – Christal-Lize Muller
