Today, on the 17 April 2018 at about 11:00 members of Thabong Crime Intelligence and Welkom K9 Unit received a tip-off about a Nigerian man in possession of suspected stolen items whose car was parked next to old Woolworths in Mooi Street, Welkom CBD.
On arrival of members of the units, a white sedan was approaching the mentioned spot. The vehicle was searched and the following items were found inside his vehicle : Lenova laptop, Playstation, Xbox, Vodafone tablet and Samsung Cellphone. The suspect was requested to take members to his residence where 4 grams of dagga were found. His assylum document has already expired since the 18 March 2018. The Audi sedan vehicle also had no licence disc. A 30-year-old Nigerian man was busted for possession of suspected stolen property, burglary and the possession of dagga. He will soon appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court.
