Two foreign nationals were arrested on Saturday (02/05) following the recovery of a stolen vehicle that had been reported missing.
Free State police spokesperson, Mahlomola Kareli explained that the the Bloemfontein Flying Squad alongside private security acted on information received regarding a Toyota VX Cruiser with Northern Cape registration plates. “The vehicle had been reported stolen from the parking lot at a Mall in the Bayswater area,” Kareli explained.
A search was conducted which led the team to a residence in Phahameng, where the vehicle was located. Kareli said, “Various tools and equipment suspected to be used in the commission of the crime were also confiscated. Two male foreign nationals aged 23 and 34, were found at the scene and immediately arrested.”
They are expected to appear soon in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
