Duane Petrus – The Mangaung Fire Department is currently busy extinguishing a huge veld fire that is busy spreading to houses in Eden Park in Bloemfontein.
The fire department’s Bram van Zyl, says they do have the fire under control and three fire trucks are currently at the scene.
He added that no injuries have been recorded and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
Van says says it has already spread a number of kilometres.
He also says the smoke is very thick and visibility is very limited.
He added that another fire is being attended to on the N1 close to Bloemfontein, where a bus had caught fire.
