Higher Education Committee in FS for oversight visit

The Portfolio Committee on Higher Education started with their week-long visit to post-school education and training institutions in the Free State. The purpose of the visit is to assess the state of readiness, challenges and infrastructure development at the institutions.

The committee is set to meet with key stakeholders including institutional councils and management, student representative councils, labour unions and institutional forums. The stakeholders will be given the opportunity to provide their insight of the current state of affairs at higher education institutions, the challenges and outline plans for the academic year.

The committee will also conduct site visits and inspect all the PSET institutional infrastructure development projects. The five-day oversight visit will commence at the University of Free State today and visit various other institutions throughout the week.
