Health Indaba to focus on turnaround strategy

SABRINA DEAN – Health care professionals and stakeholders from across the province are expected to descend on Bloemfontein for a two day summit focused on a turnaround strategy for improved health outcomes.

Some of the issues to be addressed during the health indaba include programmes on burden of disease; health care financing; health personnel training development and deployment; and infrastructure support.

Tebogo Oepeng, spokesperson for Free State Health MEC Benny Malakoane, says the department intends using the platform to come up with a clear vision for the future. "We have invited our stakeholders. We are taliking to municipalities and our partners to come together so that at the end of the day, we must come up with a way forward on where we want to take the department," he says

Free State Premier Ace Magashule will deliver the keynote address this morning before the various commissions get to work after lunch. Oepeng says each of the four commissions will provide feedback tomorrow.
