FS man’s death investigated after fight with siblings

The police are investigating the death of the 40-year-old Jabulani Mguni, who allegedly died during a fight with his siblings in Bohlokong, Bethlehem, in the Free State earlier this week.

OFM News reports that the police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says it is alleged that Mguni arrived at his place injured, and started a fight with his sisters.

She adds that the police were called and upon arrival they found him lying on the floor with injuries to his hands and head. She says it is alleged that he slipped and fell during the fight. He was rushed to the local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Mbambo says prior to Mguni’s death, a number of domestic related incidents between Mguni and his siblings were reported at the Bohlokong Police Station and Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).

A case of murder is being investigated and no suspect has been arrested yet. The Police Provincial Commissioner, Baile Motswenyane, says domestic violence is a serious problem across the country and such incidents should be reported as soon as possible.
