FS govt to visit Madiba

SABRINA DEAN – Free State Premier Ace Magashule is expected to travel to Pretoria today to visit ailing former President Nelson Mandela in hospital.
Spokesman Mondli Mvambi said in an SMS the Premier will lead a delegation of MECs and Members of the Provincial Executive Committee to visit Mandela at the Mediclinic Heart Hospital at 11am.
Magashule’s office issued a statement yesterday saying the people of the Free State continue to pray for Madiba. Magashule said, "The people of the Free State are wishing Madiba well and remain optimistic that the ailing iconic statesmen will soon recover to inspire us to achieve greater heights of our 19 years old democracy."
A prayer session is also scheduled to take place at Vista Stadium in Bloemfontein from 9am on Sunday. Youths from churches across the province are expected to gather to pray for Madiba during the event, which also marks the closing of the provincial youth month celebrations. "We are the Mandela Generation," Magashule said.
