The third term of the 2025 academic year kicks off today (22/7) with 54 days of learning and teaching until another break.
The Free State Department of Education MEC, Dr Julia Maboya, welcomed learners, teachers, and staff back to school for the start of the new term.
According to her, the first 105 days of the school calendar have progressed smoothly across the province. She said minimal incidents occurred that have interrupted learning and teaching.
“We urge schools to ensure timely completion of the curriculum,” MEC Maboya said.
She further encouraged parents and guardians to support their children adequately, ensuring they have the necessary tools for success, as this term includes preliminary exams for matric learners and learner assessments for other grades.
Public schools will close for the third term break from 4 to 12 October 2025.
