Former MAP mayor shoots down rumours

Former Maluti-A-Phofung (MAP) executive mayor, Gilbert Mokotso, has shot down claims that he joined the ANC.

OFM News reports that Mokotso and fifteen other councillors were ousted by the ANC provincial leadership in 2018.

This, after being impeached for voting with the opposition to boot former mayor, Vusimuzi Tshabalala.

They then formed a community organisation – MAP 16 – which contested the latest municipal elections and won ten of the thirty-five wards that form Maluti-A-Phofung.

Lately, rumours have been circulating on social media that he and the other fifteen joined the ruling party.

Speaking to OFM News this morning, Mokotso said he would never join the ANC after what they did to him and his colleagues.
