EFF loves attention-analyst

REFILWE MEKOA

The Economic Freedom Fighters loves attention.

This is according to political analyst Theo Venter. He said the EFF knows that they’re viewed as the new political kid and they would want to do things that will create statements.

Venter’s analysis comes days before the opening of the national assembly where the EFF claimed that they will wear their red trademark overalls to parliament. Venter says EFF’s attitude will gradually fade away.

He said there’s a parliamentary code that doesn’t allow members to wear their political regalia but also highlighted that parliament can be flexible to allow conditional clothing.

“I think there is a rule amongst the rules of parliament where we can turn things around. I think we will definitely see the EFF dressed in red. I saw Dali Mpofu on a television in one of the interviews dressed in a red jacket. I think wearing red pants and jacket which the outfit is not a uniform or an overall will get the EFF in parliament. The party will probably make a statement once as part of their party political culture,” said Venter.
