EC farm attack victim flown to BFN

DUANE PETRUS – An Eastern Cape man has been flown to Bloemfontein and is currently being treated at a hospital here after being injured in a farm attack. Dawie de Villiers, who is in a serious condition, lost both his parents during the attack in Barkley East is now treated at the Bloemfontein Mediclinic. Areocare head nurse, Karen Jansen, says De Villiers is currently stable and suffered multiple stab wounds and lacerations on his face and neck. His parents, Dawid and Rallie de Villiers, were both found dead on the farm this morning. They are both in their eighties. "We stabilised the patient in Aliwal-North and we stabilised him and gave him medication before we flew back to Bloemfontein. The injuries are very serious because he was cut through the trachea and past his esophagus," said Jansen.
Jansen says the injuries are stable at the moment and he will be operated on today.
