DA member crosses over to the ANC

REFILWE MEKOA

The Democratic Alliance is very much racially orientated.

This is according to former DA member of the Free State legislature Basil Alexander. He was speaking at the Bloemfontein ANC offices on Tuesday morning after his announcement that he will be joining the ANC.

Alexander says there are many DA members who are not happy and want to join the ANC. The Free State ANC chairperson along with other members welcomed Alexander at a press conference. Alexander says he was always under the impression that within the DA there were no race issues.

“If you voice your differences, you get to be victimized and end up being kicked out. Many members are lying low and when the right time comes, they will vacate their seats. The DA is no more a home where true democracy is the order of the day. I know exactly what I’m talking about, I have been a provincial chairperson for the past ten years,” he said.
