Construction company’s trucks robbed

DUANE PETRUS – An unknown number of armed men gained entry to a construction company’s premises in Bloemfontein on Friday night and took off with 4 trucks belonging to the company. Police spokesperson, Zweli Morolobedi, says the men entered the premises of Razzmatazz in Roodewal by cutting the fence. Morolobedi says two suspects pointed the employees with firearms before taking off with the trucks worth R2 million. It is unclear how many suspects were on the premises. Three of the four trucks were recovered hours later at the Sepapu Border Post before making its way into Lesotho, but the suspects managed to evade custody. The fourth truck was found abandoned in Bloemspruit the following day. No one has yet been arrested and police are investigating cases of robbery and malicious damage to property.
