GALOOME SHOPANE Botshabelo police, outside Bloemfontein, have launched a manhunt for an alleged murder suspect. 18-year-old Likunye Morakanyana was set to reappear in Botshabelo Magistrate Court on the second of this month on charges of unlicensed firearm but failed to do so.
Police spokesperson Tseko Mokhatle says it is alleged that on the fifth of the same month Morakanyana shot and killed a 32-year-old man outside a local tarven after they had an argument.
Mokhatle says the first unlicensed firearm was confiscated.
“The firearm used in the murder is also unlicensed. We urge the public to be careful and they must call the police if they see him as he is armed and dangerous,” he says.
Police are offering a R10 000 reward for anyone who might know of Morakanyana’s whereabouts.
