Body found in pit toilet ahead of World Toilet Day

Earlier on Sunday, November 3, the body of a 29-year-old female was discovered in a pit toilet in Caleb Motshabi. The discovery led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man, suspected of her murder.

According to Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli, a friend stormed into the Kagisanong Police Station and alleged that he saw the corpse in the pit latrine.

“Police took him with and rushed to the scene.  On arrival at the shack, police were led to the pit toilet in the yard by a trail of bloodstains. In the toilet, members made a gruesome discovery of the body of a 29-year-old female with multiple injuries on the head and upper body,” Kareli said.

Kareli further confirmed the suspect was the victim’s boyfriend and was arrested near their shack for the alleged murder of his girlfriend. The suspect will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.
