Anchor of Hope says ‘thank you’

It was a hole-in-one as the success of the second Anchor of Hope Classic Golf Day, powered by iClix, brought over 130 golfers to a festivity of 18 holes that were each sponsored by the participating sponsors.

On 14 April, competitive cheers and gracious interactions between the teams could be seen from a distance as the golfers swung their golf clubs at the Bloemfontein Golf Club. The order of the event was not only to raise funds but as Anchor of Hope’s Boeta Swart puts it, to say thank you.

The main sponsor, iClix, according to Swart, was looking for a different way to support Anchor of Hope and that is how the idea of a golf day came about.

“The whole idea of the golf day was not the funding. It was to say thank you to funders and sponsors. That is why we had a festival approach where you [Bloemfontein Courant] took pictures as well. Without our sponsors and donors, Anchor of Hope will not exist and can’t do the work that we are currently doing. Thank you to supporters of Anchor of Hope and especially to the main sponsors for making the event possible.”
