The men from Bloemfontein face the University of Fort Hare in Alice this evening, requiring just two points from the game to secure home final.
Ixias’ coach, Skillie Bester, told Courant Sport this morning that there are no shortcuts and they will settle for nothing less than a win.
The Blues are the only team to have beaten the Ixias this season.
Tonight’s match at the Davidson Rugby Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
Meanwhile, in the Varsity Cup, the University of the Free State Shimlas will be aiming to keep their play-off chances alive when they tackle the UCT Ikeys at the Green Mile in Cape Town.
Shimlas coach, Michael Horak told Courant Sport the side from Cape Town are tricky, however he remains upbeat about their chances.
This afternoon’s match in Cape Town kicks off at 17:00.
