The Birds and Celtic play to a draw in Dobsonville

MORGAN PIEK

Bloemfontein – A stunning strike from Mogogi Gabonamong secured a 1-1 draw for Bloemfontein Celtic against Moroka Swallows in their PSL clash at the Dobsonville Stadium on yesterday afternoon.

The home side took their early lead in the 15th minute Edward Manqele opened the scoring for the Birds, who have yet to win in 2014.

Phunya Sele Sele had to way under after the half-time break to get on to scoreboard.

The Botswana international Gabonamongs’ goal came in the 49th minute after the Swallows keeper fumbled the ball in the in-goal area.

Celtics’ strikers latched onto the rebound, setting it up perfectly for Gabonamongs’ scintillating strike.

Siwelele next face former assistant coach, Boebie Solomons’ Polokwane City at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo on Wednesday.
