Arrests are yet to be made after the body of a woman was discovered in Namibia, Mangaung on Saturday. Courant arrived at the scene where police and emergency service personnel closed off the area right across the busy M10 Road.

According to Mangaung police spokesperson Ikobeng Hlubi no suspects have been arrested after the woman whose age is unknown was allegedly struck to death with a rock during the early hours of Saturday morning. The victim was found naked by a passer-by in the open field littered with rocks near Lemo Mall. Police have not confirmed whether she was raped or not.

This gruesome death took place during the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign. The campaign forms the centre of government’s comprehensive 365 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children. At the end of the campaign on 10 December 2019, government will officially launch the 365 Days Behavioural Change Campaign.
