With the purpose to uplift, encourage and empower women from various backgrounds, the #YourSuperPower Girls Take Over, founded in 2017 by the Dipalesa Pitchov Foundation, is taking the city by storm.
According to one of the directors of the Miss Glamorous Free State pageant and co-founder of the YourSuperPower Girls Take Over summit, Dipalesa Mbola, she has realised after participating in pageants and finally running her own pageant, that the empowerment programmes given through these platforms were needed by so many other women.
“Unfortunately, pageants, through their criteria, cut out a lot of women. YourSuperPower wanted to reach out to as many women as possible and provide the empowerment aspects to every type of woman,” she said.
Speakers for this year’s summit will be Ps Pushie Watson, Dipalesa Mbola, Nomzamo Mbatha, Gail Mabalane, the editor of TrueLove Magazine, Mbali Soga, and the the incredible fitness enthusiast, Takkies.
The event will take place on 15 June 2019 at the Protea Hall at the showgrounds in Bloemfontein. Tickets are currently selling at R350 and can be purchased on Webtickets and at all Pick n Pay stores nationwide.
“YourSuperPower’s general message to women is that all of us are important, we form a crucial piece of the puzzle. It’s high time we completely destroy the narrative that women can’t get along. We’re brilliant by ourselves but together we are a force that cannot be shaken and it is up to is to be that. When one woman wins, we all win.” Mbola concluded.
