Residents have been reminded to take note of the water tariff increase, as from July 2025 to 30 June 2026
The Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality (MMM) published the annual tariff increase rates and additional costs for residential properties and businesses.
MMM added that all residential and business properties that use pre-paid water meters will be expected to pay the basic availability charge, however, all residential properties with a market value of R100 000 or less and all registered indigent households will be exempted from paying the basic availability charge.

“This charge will be redeemable with the first water token purchase of the month, which means the amount of the first monthly token purchase must be equal to or greater than the applicable charge listed below,” MMM explained.
